Summer favorites at DARC

Rokinon Macro Lens

What can you do with a macro lens? Just about anything! The Rokinon Macro Lens is great for taking sharp, detailed images of close-up subjects. Common examples include insects, plants, or jewelry, but have you ever thought to use them for portraits or landscapes? This 100mm lens allows you to get extremely close to your subject. The minimum focus distance is 1 inch away from the lens and its opening up to T3.1 creates an extremely shallow depth of field. Expert Digital Artist members can rent the Rokinon Macro Lens for $50 a week.

Optoma DLP short throw projector

The Optoma DLP is a lightweight, small footprint projector that packs a punch. One is currently in use at DARC HQ in the workshop room and has been the hero to many artists in the city. This projector can read 4k input sources and project at 1080p. The sRGB and REC.709 color profiles with a 50,000:1 contrast ratio means your colours will be sharp and accurate. If you haven’t been able to device test thoroughly, you can be confident that these projectors will have excellent image quality.

As you would expect, the projector comes with a remote and power cable. It will take HDMI from a media player or other device. If you don’t want to use the internal speaker, you can run audio through your own device. The rental cost is $100 per week and is available at all membership levels; we currently have two in rotation for all your installation needs.
