The Loop functions as a co-working, collaborative workspace available year-round to DARC members.

Please include your desired booking time and additional accommodations in your booking request. Please request your booking at least one week in advance. Providing as much information as you can at the time of your booking request, including your project or event information, number of attendees, etc. will help to speed up the approval process.

The Loop's Features:

  • Free wifi;
  • Access to the Loop presentation package (projector/screen);
  • Modular board table (seats 12), small modular meeting table (seats up to 4), laptop bar (seats 4), 4-meter long whiteboard wall with dry erase markers;
  • Cozy lounge space with a couch; 
  • A stocked video and media art resource library and audio system;
  • Kitchenette with a full-sized fridge, microwave, coffee maker (12 cups), kettle, etc.;
  • Cleaning and hand sanitization supplies.

USE OF SPACE + additional info on bookings

Please review each section before booking:

  • DARC Members, including Essentials, Extended Access and Organizational members.
  • The use of the Loop is for video and media art specific work.
  • Users must be working in the field of video/media art/in the arts generally while in the space. This has included writing grants, project development, editing, daily operations (for Organizational members), etc.
  • Private member bookings are available under the same pretenses. Private bookings have included meeting with cast/crew, meeting with a mentor/curator/collaborator about a project/exhibition, hosting a workshop/talk/presentation, hosting a volunteer orientation session, hosting a staff meeting, etc.
  • Any private bookings that involve hosting public-facing programming require a partnership or hosting agreement with DARC. 
  • Private bookings or public programming presented in any DARC facilities, including meetings, hosting a workshop/talk/presentation, or info sessions, must be free or donations-based. 
  • Charging attendees, vendors, artists or guests to attend or use this free space is prohibited.
  • DARC has the right to not approve or cancel any bookings that do not fit within DARC’s mandate.

HOW TO BOOK

  • Please include your desired booking time and additional accommodations in your booking request. 
  • If you have not booked The Loop before, you may be asked to attend an orientation of the space.
  • Bookings are not automatically approved. You may be asked to provide additional information or clarification about your project and booking.
  • If you are hosting a public program, workshop or event, you may be asked to provide more information before approval as well as sign a partnership, sponsorship or hosting agreement. 
  • DARC has the right to review, approve or cancel any booking if it does not meet DARC’s mandate.

Permitted Uses

Non-Permitted Uses

  • The Loop does not function as a satellite office space for work outside of the video and media art field. 
  • No paid ticketing or revenue generation is allowed for events hosted in any of DARC’s facilities. Members who book The Loop cannot request payment from others to attend their event or booking.
