Digital Arts Resource Centre (DARC) is a not-for-profit, artist-run media art centre that fosters the growth and development of artists through access to equipment, training, mentorship, and programming. We host a wide range of events such as film screenings, artist talks, and more. Our commitment to independence of expression and affordable access for all is reflected in the diverse range of events we offer to support our community of media artists. Digital Arts Resource Centre values diversity and actively promotes equity for all artists regardless of race, age, class, gender, sexual orientation, language, or ability.

DARC is excited to present our annual Big Gay Screening in partnership with Qu’ART. Join us for this FREE event and celebrate the creativity within the queer community!

Digital Arts Resource Centre’s Annual General Meeting will be held on Monday, May 25th, 2026 at 6:00pm in-person at the Loop (67 Nicholas St).

In collaboration with REEL CANADA, DARC is proud to present ENDLESS COOKIE by Seth Scriver & Peter Scriver (Cree), for National Canadian Film Day.

In celebration of International Women’s Month, we are proud to screen DARC’s Media Art Production Fund recipient Pixie Cram’s latest film The Pavilion. After the screening, Pixie will discuss the making of this part live action and part stop motion film set during WWII.

If you’re enrolled in the Visual Arts or Communications program at the University of Ottawa, you can get a free Essentials membership at DARC. Join us for a meetup and tour to learn more!

This artist talk traces the evolution of Art as Therapy: In Conversation with Creatives, a video series exploring how artists use creative practice as a form of healing, reflection, and connection. I’ll speak about moving from one-on-one interviews to dialogue-based conversations between artists, the challenges of translating intimacy to short-form media, and what it means to document care, process, and growth in real time. The talk reflects on art not as a solution, but as a sustained practice of staying with ourselves and each other.
