The Digital Edit Suite is a purpose-built, private working space for DARC members. This suite now features a Mac Studio, an ideal working platform for video editing. On this computer, members can expect an array of editing software such as Davinci Resolve, Adobe Premiere Pro and Final Cut Pro X. The suite enables members to edit from 4K, and HD to finish their projects in a professional environment.

The Digital Edit Suite can be booked by Extended Access DARC members. As of April 1 2024, Edit Suite bookings are made via our online booking system and charged at an hourly rate of $8.00. We encourage members to work off their own hard drives in order to prevent losing work. Please let the tech department know if you need to set up a project on the computer. The computer is wiped every 4 months.
As of April 1, 2025, DARC’s Digital Edit Suite can be booked at an hourly rate of $8.00; a minimum booking is 2 hours. If you don’t use the full time, you will still be charged for the time you booked. If you’re running late for your booking, you may not be able to stay later. This helps us keep the Digital Edit Suite well-maintained, clean and available when our members need it.
DARC reserves the right to cancel bookings but will notify you as soon as possible in the event of any cancellations. DARC reserves the right to change these terms at any time.
Extended Access Members are welcome to book full days, prorated to $50. After-hours will continue to be a flat rate of $30, whether you work 2 hours or 9. When booking the After-hours block, you’ll be required to perform our after-hours rules and security procedure. Fees must be paid in advance of all bookings. We cannot guarantee a quiet environment after 5pm due to Club SAW’s activities.
Organizational Members do not have access to post-production facilities such as the Recording Studio and Edit Suite. Any arrangements to use these spaces must be agreed upon with the Executive Director and/or the Technical Manager. The rates for these facilities are generally 2.5 times the Extended Access hourly rate, or subject to an MOU based on the project’s budget (i.e. an Extended Access member pays $8/hour, an Org member pays $20).

All doors at DARC have accessibility buttons to press for automatic entry. DARC is located on the main floor (one story above ground) of the Arts Court building. DARC’s main entrance is located at 67 Nicholas Street which is fully wheelchair accessible.
Cancellations must be made 48 hours in advance. Members will be billed the total rental price if less than 48 hours notice is given. In addition, if a member does not show up for their booking, a no-show penalty fee of $30 will be charged.
