Video Camp for Girls+ is a 2-week program that provides youth* aged 13-17 with hands-on video production training. Topics include camera and audio basics, shooting techniques, lighting techniques, and an introduction to video editing in DaVinci Resolve.
Under the guidance of professional filmmakers and multimedia artists, participants will learn how to handle equipment, set up for video shoots, and complete exercises to simulate various shooting conditions and situations. Participants will work together in small groups to produce short videos that will be screened at the end of the 2-week program.
Film and video-making often tends to be a male-dominated field, and this program seeks to encourage young women, girls, gender non-conforming, and non-binary youth to learn about film, and to consider it as a potential career choice.
*This program encourages registration from trans, non-binary, and gender non-conforming youth.
