Field Recording: Learning to Listen is a 2-part workshop that explores the basics of stereo field recording. Participants will work with a variety of DARC’s microphones including hydrophones, electromagnetic microphones, and binaural microphones to explore experimental recording techniques. This workshop takes place at the Adàwe Crossing pedestrian bridge near Strathcona Park. Participants will have the opportunity to capture a variety of sounds in nature and are encouraged to engage in listening exercises.
To participate in this workshop, all participants must be fully vaccinated and wear a mask while on site at DARC.

Materials
- DARC will provide all recorders, microphones, and headphones
- Participants are welcome to bring their own equipment
- Any additional materials will be sent in advance via email
