Principles of Hand Drawn Animation

Workshop

September 10, 17 and 24, 6 - 9 PM

This 3 week beginner’s course covered the fundamentals of hand-drawn animation. Using examples and comprehensive exercises this course endeavored to explore the 12 Principles of Animation (squash and stretch, anticipation, staging, etc). Participants could expect to produce at least one short animated sequence through this workshop. 

Materials 

All materials for this workshop was provided by Digital Arts Resource Centre (DARC) for participants. The workshop was facilitated using iPads and iPens. We asked participants to let us know if they had accessibility questions or requests via e-mail or telephone.

Registration

DARC members, professional artists, creators, arts workers, cultural workers, admirers and or advocates for video and media arts were encouraged to register.  Limited subsidies were available on request for participants without access to funds. Only 8 spots were made available in this workshop, to maximize one-on-one instructor time.
