DARC is seeking a collaborative and enthusiastic individual to join our team as the Community and Organizational Partnerships Coordinator. This is a part-time role, 25 hours per week, with the possibility of expanding to full-time hours in the future. Reporting to the Director, the Community and Organizational Partnerships Coordinator is responsible for stewarding positive relations with DARC’s partners as well as developing relationships in the local media arts community. The Community and Organizational Partnerships Coordinator is responsible for the DARC SOUNDSTAGE and serves as the lead contact for DARC’s organizational members and mentorships. 

DUTIES

Internal Relationships (10%)

-Collaborate with the Director to implement and review strategic goals for community engagement and partnerships;

-Collaborate with the Community Access and Education Manager to deliver DARC SOUNDSTAGE training programs;

-Provide materials to the Engagement and Mobilization Manager to promote the DARC SOUNDSTAGE and other community events as required.

Community Engagement and Partnerships (30%)
-Actively pursue opportunities to develop community partnerships with cultural institutions and individual practitioners in the Ottawa region;

-Organize community events (member meetups, Q&As, networking sessions, etc.) in collaboration with other DARC departments as needed;

-Serve as the primary contact for DARC organizational members, including facilitating memberships, bookings, and rentals by directing members to appropriate the department as needed;

-Attend external community events (partner organizations, sponsored organizations, key stakeholders, etc.) and DARC events that are after hours as required;

Oversee and manage DARC’s Media Art Production Fund in partnership with the Director and the Community Access and Education Manager.

Coordination of Mentorships (40%)
-Oversee the organizational mentorship of a BIPOC grassroots mentee (TBA);

-Serve as the primary contact for the organizational mentorship, answering all questions and directing the mentee to various DARC departments as needed;

-Develop project guidelines and milestones in accordance with the funder, Director, and mentee to track project progress; 

-Ensure the timely delivery of the mentee’s quarterly reports;

-Facilitate the booking of DARC’s resources to fulfill the mentee’s proposed programming, as approved by DARC’s Director;

-Attend mandatory training or feedback sessions from the funding foundation;

-Facilitate connections with other partnerships to support the needs of the mentee, with the oversight of the Director.

SOUNDSTAGE Studio Operations (20%)
-Coordinate and fulfill any administrative duties related to the studio, including answering phone calls and emails, greeting visitors and members, and providing studio tours to interested parties;

-Coordinate all studio bookings (manage studio calendar, booking inquiries, etc.) by obtaining applicable forms, insurance, and deposits; 

-Manage all financial transactions related to the studio (invoicing, providing estimates, processing payments, etc.); 

-Communicate with DARC members on-site to provide support and recommendations for member productions based on project needs; 

-Work closely with partners at uOttawa to coordinate facility needs, including scheduling, security, maintenance, and access to the studio;

-Responsible for managing DARC studio, studio equipment, and arranging for the transportation of gear to and from DARC’s main facility space; 

-Maintain basic maintenance of the studio (ensure the cleanliness and organization of the studio, schedule repairs as needed);

-Assist with data collection and entry for member activities (AMS database) and communications as required.

QUALIFICATIONS
-Project or event management skills to independently manage their duties and responsibilities;

-Organized and collaborative individual with good self-management skills to lead the projects proposed by the Director; 

-Be able to communicate clearly what their needs are to fulfill the duties of the role; 

-Experience working with not-for-profit organizations, artist-run centres, and/or grassroots organizations;

-Familiarity with Ottawa’s broader arts and culture community, including knowledge of media arts, film, and video;

-Experience or interest in building, engaging, and developing relationships locally and nationally; 

-Familiarity with funding and granting systems available for local artists;

-Aware or interested in learning about the pathways to create and develop media arts in the Ottawa region. 

The compensation rate is $20.00 per hour. Benefits include Health/Dental coverage (option to sign into the plan), 10 days paid vacation (plus two non-negotiable weeks of paid vacation during the holiday closure), generous professional development opportunities (including comped DARC workshops), comped access to DARC equipment and facilities, access to up to 10 unpaid days of artistic leave.
