National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

Today is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, and DARC would like to take this opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to stand with Indigenous communities.

We recognize the Algonquin and Anishinaabeg people, and the meaningful work they continue to do in our region to support the land. We also honour the survivors of residential schools and their families, and acknowledge the lasting impact of this painful history on Indigenous Peoples. The profound injustices they’ve endured must not be forgotten and we encourage everyone to reflect, open dialogues, and add their voices and support behind the 94 Calls of Action needed for reconciliation to be realized in a meaningful way. The work isn’t done.

DARC will continue to support Indigenous communities through equitable access to our resources, and would like to thank our DEI working group for guiding us through these efforts.
