Each month, DARC highlights one of our incredible Members and one of the many exciting projects they’re working on. This month, our Member Highlight is Kestrel Blue, a local musician and member of DARC!

MEET KESTREL
Kestrel Blue is a project featuring singer-songwriter Michael Lisinski and various collaborators. A recurring theme in Kestrel Blue’s music is to pair juxtaposing elements that don’t normally “belong” together in ways that still “make sense”. Influenced by Jacques Derrida as much as by Jack White, Kestrel Blue’s committed to the mantra “eleven chords and the truth”. Current collaborators include bassist Cyrus R.O. and drummer Anna Belle.
Kestrel Blue’s latest release is “Vanessa“, which takes its name from the painted lady butterfly. This song was influenced in various ways by New Wave, jazz, post-punk, and chaos theory, and was partially recorded in DARC’s Recording Studio.
As a DARC Member, Kestrel gets access to equipment, facilities, grants, residencies, workshop discounts, and so much more! Want to become a member like Kestrel? Check out the DARC membership page to get started.
