NAUFRAGIOS (The Sound of no Shore) is an evocation of the cycles of life and destiny.
This 15 minute video work is composed of a series of manipulations of a pixel sample from an anonymous body of water, shifting and folding into an ever changing seascape. The pixel samples warp, duplicate, skew into a story, inviting the viewer to consider changing orientations, inviting the viewer to think about ‘the sound of no shore’.
Born in La Habana, Manuel Piña-Baldoquìn is a visual artist and educator who lives and works in Vancouver. His works investigates the relation between technology, spirituality and justice.
