Not your uncle’s gear demos! DARC is facilitating low stakes and low barrier access to DARC gear with an informal learning component. These gear orientations are member led and staff supported, focusing on key tools in DARC’s equipment library.
Just in time for festival season, our first drop-in session focuses on mixers and PA kits. This demonstration will show you how to put together and operate a basic PA system for a live sound event. Whether you’re mixing your favourite local musician or hosting an artist talk, you’ll be able to make sure your sound runs smoothly.
In this session, we’ll review speakers, monitors, mixers, and microphones commonly used in live sound. We’ll also explore signal flow, gain staging, effects, aux sends, and other elements of live sound that will help to get you started.
